Morepork
Okay, it may only be ONE of its many names but its still a thing and its still named after its call!
The Morepork owl has been a running gag for my sister and I since we found an enclosure for one at a sanctuary in New Zealand, years ago. The owl itself wasn’t there though – most likely it escaped, its all-consuming hunger driving it to hunt pigs, forever.
